Homewood Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport

As a disclaimer I rate hotels hard because I'm a germ-o-phobe and hate staying in them. Good: it was a place to wash up, use the bathroom and try to rest. Our odd room number room was behind a road, but the road noise wasn't bad at all. It does have a good breakfast from 6-9. Not so good: our arm chair in the room had white and brown stains on it. Our room didn't have any hand soap and our garbage can didn't have a liner. The stay was 3 star overall.

I couldn't be happier with the staff and their kindness, but there were a few issues that we didn't anticipate, and some of the amenities that weren't available were why we opted for this particular hotel. The pool is currently out of order. The main elevator is out of order. As a Hilton Honors member, I hope to be updated on things like that, so I hated letting my daughter down about the pool, especially. The room was very clean, the rooms were very quiet, and the parking was good. We would stay again, especially because of the proximity to the airport, but hope they will be more forthcoming with issues when booking. The breakfast is great.

We are Hilton Diamond Members. We have stayed there twice. My wife is very allergic to feathers. They close up her throat so when we travel we also ask for feather free rooms and are usually accommodated for. When we made the reservation we put in the special needs requests that we need feather free room. - no down pillows. The first time a few weeks ago we stayed there and when checked in and there were feather pillows we had to ask to be swapped. When we said we had it in our reservation request he said oh we don’t really look at those things, and housekeeping doesn’t see it. He said next time call in advance to make sure the pillows are foam. No feathers. So this last Saturday we put the note in for no down pillows when We made the reservation and then also called the hotel and were assured by the front desk that it was only foam pillows in our room. Our flight was delayed so it was after midnight when we arrived. We went to our room to get ready for bed and my wife starts having a reaction and we check and the pillows were down! So I had to take the pillows to the front desk to get them switched. Problem was the lady had no pillows there at the desk and no keys to get access to housekeeping where pillows were kept. We wasted an hour hoping for pillows and then had no replacements for the two pillows. The next day we said we thought our room should be comped and they said we would need to talk to the manager. Well today we did get a call from the manager a lady named Jodie. She was very rude and said it was only two pillows an unfortunate mistake but no refunding of points or giving a refund. So we paid $169 for a room we could not sleep comfortably in. Never staying there again! Most Hilton brands are very accommodating especially for a diamond member and we have ran into the pillow issue before and we’re quickly taking care of and very apologetic about not reading the notes and taking care of it. Marriot brands has it marked that the room is feather free in our profile and staff have been trained to read profiles and set up the tool appropriately. We never have a pillow issue with them. We are platinum members with Marriott Needless to say we will not be staying at this hotel again.
